heypuppy was born when i was; it just hasn’t been developed until now! i have always been bent toward animals, especially the big ones. i’m sure my parents would tell you it was hard to get me to walk away from a farm, zoo, circus, friend’s house with dogs, our OWN house with dogs… God bless ‘em. we always had a dog in the house when i was growing up, and it’s part of what’s made me who i am today. i’m the one who wants to stop and save all the animals, is sad for the single dog or farm animal in the pasture and would be thrilled with 6 dogs in the house. i greet every dog with “hey puppy” or “hi puppy”, even if they’re 18 years old, so naturally… HEYPUPPY! i distinctly remember being newly married and driving to work one morning, seeing a dog on the side of the road and bursting into tears because I couldn’t stop and help it. i also clearly remember saying if i ever have the chance to work from home or stay home with children, i’m gonna use my spare time (HA! a parent with spare time…) and help every animal i can.

so now i am!

i’m the most reluctant “business” owner you’ll ever meet, having said for ages that i would NEVER own a business because i’m not that type. (to be honest, i’m STILL not that type, but i had to for tax purposes! and I’m not a manager of anyone but my home and my schedule.) it’s a business and a ministry - it’s a BUSINESSTRY! Colossians 3:23-24 says “whatever you do, work heartily, as for The LORD and not for men, knowing that from The LORD you will receive the inheritance of your reward. you are serving the LORD Jesus Christ.”

this business of mine exists to help families RELAX while leaving their pets at home while at work or play, knowing they’re cared for, loved and walked in the family’s stead. everyone wants someone they know and can trust moving around their home, and it is a JOY to be a small part of these families’ lives. plus, my husband doesn’t have to deal with me asking for more dogs because I get to see so many throughout my days!

we live in Vestavia Hills with our two precious children and our two terrific silver Labs. i’m the only one who will be caring for your animals and watching your house, and i’m the only one who will answer your texts and phone calls because it’s JUST ME - your friendly, trusted, loved, local, suburban wife and momma with her own tiny part of entrepreneurship. besides my children who walk with me and my husband who occasionally helps, there will be no one else in your home, walking your pups and caring for your animals.
